Dr.Gloria Crispino is the founder and CEO of StatisticaMedica Ltd – 2011 to present. Gloria has acquired over fifteen years of experience in conducting research, consulting and in education in the fields of biostatistics, both in academia and industry, in Europe and the USA.
Summary
- Gloria has 20 years of experience in conducting research and in lecturing in the fields of biostatistics and research methods, both in academia and industry, in Europe and the USA.
- Her research interests focus on the application of research methods in translational health research, in the continuum space from bench to bedside to population health. Gloria has lead the design, analysis and reporting of several studies in clinical research, epidemiology and population health in a broad spectrum of therapeutic areas including neurology, respiratory diseases, infectious diseases, addiction, hypertension, cardiology, oncology and emergency care.
- The interaction between academia and industry has given Gloria the opportunity to develop a unique ability to synergistically merge the methodological cutting-edge knowledge acquired in the academic/research sector with the high regulatory standards of practices in the commercial sector and to provide strategic knowledge-transfer of advanced statistical methods to both sectors and for a variety of applications including new therapy protocols, drug/medical device/diagnostic commercialization and policy documents for health practices.

StatisticaMedica is a statistical consultancy company which specialises in the biostatistical and methodological areas of health research, working in the translational space between basic research, clinical and health-related science and practices. StatisticaMedica has its headquarters in Dublin Ireland, with branches in Milan, Italy and Geneva, Switzerland. The company has built relationships with SMEs, large pharma and med devices companies, research institutes, academic and public funded bodies in Ireland and internationally and it focuses its expertise in enhancing the quality of the data and the effective delivery of results in a broad range of applications, in diagnostics, medical devices, pharmaceutical industry, clinical therapy and health care and the food industry.
StatisticaMedica employs 7 statisticians/data scientists, 2 medical writers, 2 bioinformaticians, 1 project manager and 1 quality management leader. Black Channel is an R&D company that combines statistics, mathematics, emergency medicine, data collection, social research, UAS operations, and alpine rescue to advance the use of UAS for medical applications with particular focus on hard-to-reach populations and extreme environments.
Black Channel core expertise is the rigours application of state-of-the science research methodologies to make technology independent assessments and provide regulatory grade evaluations of unmanned aircraft.
Black Channel has conducted trials in Ireland and Italy and it is planning new trials in North and South America.
